Boskovice, Czech Republic
I love castles. If I was filthy rich, I would totally buy one . . . possibly two or three. Of course, it would have to be haunted, because no castle is complete without a ghost or two. 🙂 I have no idea what I would do with 30+ rooms, but I am sure I’d think of something. I’d probably end up painting them all purple. 🙂
The internet didn’t have much to say about Boskovice or the castle in question – I still don’t know its name. If you happen to be privy to such information, please enlighten me.
I think the thing I love most about the castle on this postcard is the rolling hills that it is situated on. I’m sure that it provides an awesome view of the surrounding areas.
There is a particular castle in Germany that I really want to see. It’s called Neuschwanstein, and it is located outside of Munich. The Sleeping Beauty castle at Disneyland was modled after it. Phil and I may very well be going to Germany this year, and if we do, you better believe we’re going to find a way to tour it. I think it would be an awesome place to get married. Hmm . . . the wheels just started turning in my head. I wonder if my dad would spring for that?
We found the tour of Neuschwanstein to be disappointing. Packed rooms with sweaty bodies and a tour guide who couldn’t be heard. Get an English guide book and go on one of the Botswanian tours or something and it won’t be so crowded. We were even out of season so it might be frightful in summer.

@ Dogbait – Thanks for the tip. As long as I get to see one pretty castle when I go, I’ll be happy. I wonder how much you would have to pay for a private tour? 🙂

I want to go to England, I just don’t know if I can deal with all that rain. I’m a blue sky kinda girl. 🙂

id love to visit Neuschwanstein as well….at least it looks amazing on the postcards 🙂
in general, when i travel somewhere, im not really a touristic kind of person, coz i dont really enjoy spending all day sightseeing, but there are definitely some places i like to see…out of all i have seen in my life, Schonbrunn in Vienna has left the greatest impression on me…probably coz we werent with a guide, but due to the circumstances, we were left on our own selves…and it was the most relaxing visit of i site i had ever had…i loved the story about it (we head those small tapes and headphones, so anyone could pay attention to it, as he is walking along)….and probably it may be biased, but i fell in love with Vienna as well, so thats my affection maybe…its definitely a place i need to go back to one day…
btw…do i hear wedding bells ringing??! :))))))
